How much does it cost to join Hare?

There is no cost to join Hare. We only charge a 6.5% service fee when you receive payment from a client. The client pays 6.5% plus NYC sales tax (4.5%). There are no monthly subscriptions, no setup fees, and no hidden charges.

How do I get paid?

You'll connect your bank account through our secure Stripe integration. When clients book with you, they pay a 30% deposit, and the remaining 70% is charged 24 hours before the appointment. These payments are deposited directly to your bank account, typically within 1-2 business days.

What if I don't have my Stripe account set up yet?

You can still accept bookings! Payments will be held by Hare until you complete your Stripe account setup. Once your account is ready, you'll receive all your pending payments.

How does the appointment process work?

When a client books an appointment, it enters a "Pending" status awaiting your approval. You'll receive a notification and can review the request in your dashboard. Once you approve it, the appointment becomes "Confirmed" and the client's deposit becomes non-refundable. The remaining balance is automatically charged 24 hours before the appointment.

What if a client cancels an appointment?

Once you confirm an appointment, the client's 30% deposit becomes non-refundable. For the remainder payment (70%), clients receive tiered refunds based on when they cancel:

  • 100% refund of remainder if cancelled 24+ hours before appointment
  • 75% refund of remainder if cancelled 12-24 hours before appointment
  • 50% refund of remainder if cancelled 6-12 hours before appointment

Yes, all earnings through Hare are reportable income. Stripe will provide you with 1099-K forms for tax filing purposes if you meet reporting thresholds. Hare handles the collection and remittance of NYC sales tax (4.5%) for all services.
